Olympics

For the past two weeks i have been watching the olympics like crazy. It was really fun to watch all the competition and events that were held. Its sad that there is only one more day left till the olympics are almost over. Although this olympics have had its  fill of controveries like in taekwondo, gymnastics and a little bit tooooo much country pride, however, it was great seeing the spirit of the sports and the many crazy events that happens. Such events are:

 - The olympics opening. It was one of the greatest openings i have ever saw, and though im 22 years old and lived thru 6 olympics, i can only recall the 2004 olympics at Athens, Greece and this years olympics at Beijing Olympics. So, i guess out of the two openings, the China one was the best.

 - Michael Phelps winning 8 gold medals and broke 7 world records. Most notable win was the 100m butterfly where he won by like a centimeter. Really crazy!! Other one is where his partner Jason Lezak won the 4x100m free against the French.

 - Usain "the lightning" Bolt, who won three gold medals in 100m, 200m, and 4x100m track events. Not only did he won in those he broke the records in them also. Oh and also in 100m he totally burned the other competitors, it was awesome. Oh and Asafa Powell for helping in the 4x100m

 - The US basketball team redeemed itself from their third place finish at the 2004 olympics. And tho they beat the the other countries badly, i am sooooo glad that the finals were hella close. Most of the games i watched with either usa or china in it had me turning of the tv after the second or third quarter since the points were soooo different. It was a really good match.

 - The Chinsese Diving team won 7 out of 8 gold medals. Sucks they lost in the last one to the aussies but the aussie and the chinese were pretty darn good. Guo Jingjing was totally awesome and hot lar, haha.

 - China dominated in table tennis and almost dominated Badmington.

 - The men's gymnastic did really well, especially the chinese. The female's gymnastic had too much shit going on so while it was really good, there was too many problems and arguments.

 - The german wresler that won and honors his deceased wife.

 - The first time bmx became an olympic event and it was really fun and fast event to watch.

Besides the awesome, there is also many shocking thing that happened (shocking good and shocking bad). Such as:

 - Japan beating the US in softball, and not only that but baseball and softball wont be in the 2012 olympics because england sucks at that sport and would prob prefer cricket, tho there isnt a cricket event in the olympics.

 - China took third in volleyball and took second and third place in beach volleyball. Beach volleyball was nice, lol that is all i will say haha.

 - Dont know where to put this but in tennis; freaking roger federer lost. OMG HOW CAN HE LOSE TO JAMES BLAKE. OMG. OH and awsome job for nadal. I really wanted a federer vs nadal final :`(

 - USA tho dominated in track had some of its problems like in the 4x100m men and women's event

 - The cuban taekwondo kicked the ref for bad call. Tho its bad its still shocking.

As for the rest, it was the usual, like the rest of swimming obviously went to the US and such. There were so many other events and not enough time to watch them all. I got to see some of the others but no offense it wasnt usa or china so kind of didnt watch often like water polo or handball. All and all this olympic was totally awesome. Hopefully the ending ceremony would be as grand too.

Oh and just to put this out there, the only thing i dont like about this olympic is the whole politics revolved around it. People expect china to totally go 180 after the olympics. Wow if only politics were that easy. There were a lot unchanged but there was a little bit of change. Its all about taking one step at a time lar. :)

kk its late, laterz

RESPECT

I think their accomplishments warrant an entry on xanga. Rockets had won 22 in a row, beating Lakers on Sunday. This is the second longest winning streak in the NBA. They went from 10th place in the western conference all the way to 1st place in the western conference. So, i think they did a great job.

Only thing to spoil this little streak is the freaking boston celtics. A team consisting of whining superstars, who were whining about their prior teams and hoping to get on a good team. So, thus the gay celtics were born. Anways rockets lost to them. Another thing that sucks is that rockets get no respect, since yao is out. Yea, sure they might not be a playoff contender, but hey, they won 22 freaking games in a row. How many teams can do that, respect that at least, instead of bashing them and keep saying that t-mac can never make it past the first round. I swear everytime i watch sports center or read an article, they just have to put something like this, "tho the rockets are on a winning streak and are doing well, i dont see them as a playoff contender. They lost yao, a superstar, and t-mac cant carry his team since HE NEVER PASSED THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS." Its like saying "what you never got an A before, you might as well die." Yea, bad example but still its like bashing someone's lost and inability, over and over again. I say respect for the team at least, tho im not following that particular example above, but still, something amazing or rare at least deserve a "hmm they might have a chance" rather than "hmm nope, no chance, loser, might as well quit basketball."

Sorry rant, hopefully the rockets can pick themselves up from this. More tough teams ahead like hornets, gs, suns, spurs, etc. Hopefully they dont get looked down some more. Other than that, life is going sucky like usual. Finals, not doing good, class, not doing good, life, not doing good, and health, not doing so good, caught a little cold. (So many commas, i dont think even think that is a sentence.)

A not so normal friday

I could say, that last night was a great day. And like every great day, the sad thing is that all good things must come to an end. But as long as i write this or its in my mind, it will always be there. Anyways yesterday the chinese department had there first chinese new year thingy. So, each class had to come up with a performance. At first our class thought it was just something small where we just go and perform to an audience that is in other classes or something small. But however it was pretty big. There was a lot of performances from each classes and many of them were pretty good. So we had to think of a way to make the performance better. In the end it wasnt toooo bad but it could have been better if we thought it was something this big. It was also cool to see junia there since she was performing with her chinese class and also with her club, not bad. Chou susu was there too. It was a really great, and i had a lot of fun bonding with people in my chinese class. I have taken chinese class for the past 5 quarter and i would usually make 1-2 friends and know about 5 people. But this quarter, thanks to the event, i must say that this was the best chinese class i have had. It was good to get to know a good many of them and become friends with them. Anyways all in all it was a really good night, it lasted like 4 hours but id say it was a friday night that was worth it. After came back, went to wendys to finish the day.

HELL YEA!!! GIANTS WON!! THIS IS TOO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO GIANTS TO WIN BUT SAYS THAT THE PATRIOTS WILL WIN. FAITH MAN, IS ALL IT TAKES. ALL THOSE PEOPLE DOUBTING, F-THAT. TIME FOR CHANGE, NO MORE PATRIOTS WINNING PLS!

Oh man, i really want to update about all the things that has happen lately, especially during winter break, since it was really fun and had i had a lot of wonderful memories. But the sucky thing about it is that i dont have time. Oh wells, anyways one thing i guess i can say is that bill clinton came to davis. I stood in line for 3 hours and still didnt get in and yet there were people who came 10mins before and got in cause they all cutted. CRAP, chance of a life time passed. Oh wells it was alright, saw a little bit about what he said, he is a really good talker. So in the end i was just a just part of the stats, out of 10,000 people who went there, i was part of the 3,500 people that didnt get in. YAY?
